Resin Technology joins forces with Emeraude International

Global polymers distributor Emeraude International, headquartered in Paris, has acquired a controlling interest in Resin Technology LLC of Massachusetts, USA.

Resin Technology, LLC was founded over 20 years ago by PVC industry veteran Jim Seidewand, after management roles with GE Plastics, Diamond Shamrock and various compounding ventures. The firm sells over 100,000MT per annum of PVC materials, namely the full range of PVC resins, PVC rigid powders compounds as well as complementary additives including plasticizers into both the global and North American marketplaces. It focuses solely on PVC and is widely considered the most knowledgeable PVC distributor with its more technical, differentiated market approach to export sales.

Umar Rafique, CEO of Emeraude indicated “Acquiring a controlling interest in Resin Technology will allow us to achieve synergies in the field of PVC and Polyolefins through our combined resources and expertise, it will reinforce our global footprint and help us achieve our growth strategy”. Resin Technology will continue to operate independently, but combine the sourcing and global reach together with Emeraude. Heading the US operations will continue to be Jim Seidewand as the CEO and Carly Seidewand Eppley as VP, Global Sales and Administration. Jim Seidewand views the venture as “an excellent synergistic collaboration that provides financial strength and enhanced global presence that will allow Resin Technology, LLC to significantly grow its technical, market differentiated approach to commodity PVC resin export sales and specialty PVC rigid powder compounds”.
